Great Zimbabwe National Monument
Discovered in the 19th century, the site covers more than 700 hectares. Occupied since the 12th century, it has been prosperous from the 13th to 15th. It has been build and populated by local african tribes for trading gold with arabs.  It completely disapeared in the 18th century due to the decline of gold trading.
