Following persistent drought in the country and the
failure of the long rains in 2000, it has become necessary to further reduce
hydro power generation at KenGen's dams in order to conserve available
water to take the country to October/November when the short rains are
expected. As a result KPLC will experience a supply shortfail of 396 MW
during the day and 171 MW at night. Interruption of customers' supply has,
therefore, been revised from Thursday 8th June, 2000 as below until further
notice:
